Countdown FFM

countdown ffm is another label that appears as very opaque and obscured when trying to find underlying information or facts.
yet, it is clear that the focus is on the more acidic side of techno, and all releases seem to have been produced by marc.
fitting to the name of the label, the catalogue numbers are in "inverted" order: the countdown starts at minus six, then runs down with each release, until we are at release number "plus two".

COUNTDOWN 6 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part VI

just 2 tracks on here; the a side incorporates breakbeats, while the flip side seems to channel underground resistance once more.

COUNTDOWN 5 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part V

one of the most interesting releases on this label.
even though 7 tracks are indicated, each side features a more or less "continuous groove".
it starts with mover-esque doombient-techno, to get into an acid rush.
minimal, smart, and surreal!

COUNTDOWN 4 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part IV

a few 303-nation soundalike sequences can be found on this techno release.

COUNTDOWN 3 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part III

some quite odd sounds here, a bit like high pitched screaming / shouting?
has a distinct pre-techno acid-house vibe according to my opinion.

17 / 100

COUNTDOWN 2 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part II

another "mover type" release on countdown ffm.
b has a wonderful bittersweet melody, a2 caters more to deep-bass techno astronauts.

97 / 100

COUNTDOWN 1 - Unknown Artist – Countdown Part I

more exquisite acid by mr. acardipane.

19 / 100

COUNTDOWN +1 - Ultra Spaceman – Ultra-Style

one more release that is hard to pin point. "Ultra Spaceman Style" might actually be the most fitting description, as it definitely has an outer space vibe.
there are some electro-type grooves, and also a manic, monotonous techno monster of a track.

91 / 100

COUNTDOWN +2 - Mask (2) – Behind The Line

who is behind the mask? it's likely marc acardipane again!
a very bold release, magnetic, enchanting techno, trance, and acid patterns, very suitable for the sophisticated dancefloor.

92 / 100
